A Year in Blue Space

A Year in Blue Space is composed from materials captured during a year (2021) in which I increased my connectedness to blue spaces, in an attempt to enhance my mental health and wellbeing. My interactions spanned from the physical (walking, wild swimming), to the holistic (breathing exercises, sonfication systems for musical improvisation). Whether physical or holistic, they all produced unique sonic materials which have been used to compose a chronological narrative of the year.

I began the year in a poor state of mental health, and this project has proven to be invaluable in equipping me with the knowledge and tools to improve on this during similar fluctuations down the road.
